What is Needed

Gently Used and New Clothing

Sizes

We accept newborn through size 12 girls and boys CLOTHING ONLY however sizes of most need are 3T and above. We do not accept shoes, bedding, toys, diapers, etc. We accept clothes only as we do not have the space to store or ability to distribute these other types of items.

Amount and Season

We accept ANY amount of clothing at ANY time of the year. For example, if you’ve just gotten to cleaning out your child’s summer shorts in December, we’ll take them. Or how about their heavy sweaters in August, no problem. Or even their Easter dress in October, send it on over!

Condition

Please ensure that clothing is in “like new” condition and free of stains, tears, missing buttons, broken zippers or excessive wear. Our goal is to provide clothing that will make each child proud of their appearance and as such you should not be able to tell that these items are not new.

Also be sure that none of your donated items mention family members (i.e., World’s Best Brother, Mommy’s Angel, Little Sister, etc.). We do not know the family situation of the child(ren) who will be receiving these clothes and as such cannot give away these types of items.

Items that mention vacation locations, sporting teams, clubs and schools should also not be donated. Once again, these types are items are not appropriate to be given to children in need and/or to those who we don’t know their extracurricular activity likes and dislikes.

When we sort through the items donated if they do not meet the qualifications for our program that are listed above then one of two things will happen.

Damaged / Worn / Stained Items

These items will be bagged and placed in the St. Stephen’s clothing bins located in the Parish Community Center parking lot.

These bins are a partnership with Clothing Drive Fundraiser / Synergy In-Kind Donation Management, Inc. They are a green clothing collection and recycling company that helps organizations raise money by facilitating the collection of unwanted clothing and shoes and shipping them to people who need them around the globe. They compensate organizations per pound for what they collect. They then sort, grade, and ship items to a wide range of organizations throughout the developing world, putting used clothing into the hands of the people who really need it the most.

St. Stephen’s earns sustainable income on a monthly basis based on the clothing that is donated to these bins. As such, the items that do not make the cut for Four Seasons Kids and are placed in these bins will help to increase St. Stephen’s clothing poundage and thus the monthly income they receive from Synergy.

Good Condition Items

Good Condition Items (but those that are the wrong sizes, are baby items and not clothing, shoes or don’t otherwise fit the criteria indicated above) – these items will be bagged and donated to The Warwick Hope Chest in Florida, NY. See the PARTNERSHIP section for more information about how Four Seasons Kids and The Warwick Hope Chest are working together to better our community.
